Westrin & Mowry’s new collection of songs on "The World to Take Control" entertains the age old question, whether it is better to have loved and lost than to have never loved at all. As the 3-song EP attempts to answer this question, the answers are often as complicated as the feeling of falling in love itself. Whether dealing with the sudden loss of a true love in "Surface to Air," the circuitous wanderlust of young love in the title track, or the desperate and unrequited variety in "Ways & Means," the feeling can be equal parts euphoric, mesmerizing, and confounding. But in the end, win or lose, it seems the only thing that keeps the song on repeat well into the morning hours is the existence of the feeling, and the prospect that someone else might feel it too.
